Bans Mitra Awards - 2015

On the occasion of Madhya Pradesh Bamboo Day which is celebrated every year on 3rd day of July, Madhya Pradesh State bamboo Mission (MPSBM) presents the state level ‘Bans Mitra Awards- 2015’ for the organizations and individuals who have done pioneering and/or exemplary work in the field of Bamboo and Bamboo based applications in Madhya Pradesh. These aim of these awards is to encourage healthy competition among the different bamboo stakeholders with aim to promote the bamboo sector. A cash award of Rupees Three lakh fifty thousand is presented to individuals/institutions in four categories. The categories for the awards are as follows:

1. Bans Mitra Award for Best government Bamboo Plantation - 1 Lakh Rupees
2. Bans Mitra Award for Best private Bamboo Plantation - 1 Lakh Rupees
3. Bans Mitra Award for Best organization for innovative initiatives in the field of bamboo and bamboo applications - 1 Lakh Rupees
4. Bans Mitra Award for Best artisan for innovative initiatives in the field of bamboo handicrafts - Fifty Thousand Rupees

Back Ground

Madhya Pradesh State Bamboo Mission(MPSBM), Forest Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh is registered as a society under M P Societies Registration act, 1973 to function as the apex coordinating organization for implementation of the activities of the National Bamboo Mission in Madhya Pradesh and / or any other project given to the Society for implementation.. It is engaged in the work of technology transfer of application of bamboo technology and thereby provide employment to the unemployed people particularly through various approved schemes in the high potential bamboo sector. With an objective of recognizing to the bamboo Artisan/ bamboo growers and bamboo related organizations who made outstanding contribution in the bamboo sector, the ‘Bans Mitra’ Award is to awarded to encourage the efforts of the individuals/organizations for their good work. This award will also set an example to other individuals/organizations who will progress further to get such type of awards.

Mode of inviting entries and selection process
Entries for various categories of Bans Mitra Awards would be invited through an advertisement in the prominent newspapers of the State and posted on the website of Madhya Pradesh State Bamboo Mission (www.mpbamboomission.org). The entries should be submitted in the prescribed Performa on or before 25th June 2015 by speed post or e-mail. The entries received by the stipulated deadline would be scrutinized by a Committee nominated for this purpose.

Nomination shall be examined by a committee as listed below:-

1. CCF- Bhopal
2. Mission Director , MPSBM
3. Representative of MP Ecotourism: Mr. Anuj Sharma
4. Representative of IIFM: Prof. Yogesh Dubey
5. Representative of SPA
6. Two Technical Eminent Experts/Professionals in Bamboo sector (Designated by MPSBM)
7. One Empanelled/ Recognized NGO in the field of Bamboo Mission Director (MPSBM)
