Diagnostic characters:
Body stout and cylindrical; head moderately large; tail shorter than body, swollen at the base and pointed; irregular tubercles interspaced with small granular scales, belly scales imbricate, toes without lamellae, pupil vertical. Dorsum light-brown with dark-brown, paired, transversely arranged spots or strips continuing till the groin; belly light brown. SVL: 60mm.   
Habit and Habitat:
Nocturnal; terrestrial, mostly active during evening hours; found in dry deciduous forest below rotten logs, rocks, inside leaf letter
Diet:
Small insects like grylids, roches, ants etc
Legal Protection:
WL (P) A, 1972- None.
Conservation status and Threats:
Not accessed. Uncommon. No serious threats observed.
Distribution:Madhya Pradesh: Balaghat, Mandla (KTR). Elsewhere in India: Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala
