Lined supple skink

Diagnostic characters:
Body more elongate and small; supranasal entire, just touching one another; frontal smaller than the fronto-parietal; 104-120 scales down the middle of the body; Limbs weaker; each one with four digits only; the outer toe being absent; third and fourth toe equal with five to six brownish-golden lines on its body. SVL: 60mm.
Habit and Habitat:
Diurnal; fossorial; Mostly seen under large boulders, loose soil associated with termite mounds and ant hills in open scrublands which were converted into agricultural fields during the monsoons. Habits, habitat and life style of this Skink are entirely special, and they contribute to its rarity
Diet:
Small Insects, termites, mosquito, house flies, ant eggs.

Conservation status and Threats:
Not accessed. Rare. Loss of habitat.
Distribution: Madhya Pradesh: Chhattarpur. Elsewhere India: Gujarat and Maharashtra
