Diagnostic characters:
Body robust, digits short; with smooth lamellae; 12-16 beneath the 4 th toe; lower eyelid with an undivided transparent disc; temporal scales keeled; ear opening oval; dorsal and lateral scales sub equal; the former with 2 strong keels; the latter with 3; 34-36 scales round the middle of the body. Dorsum light-brown with 3 or more less distinct greenish-white stripes; a vertebral and 2 dorso-lateral; the stripe may be edged with black or black line may be broken into spots; lower parts yellowish-white; a conspicuous white streak edged with brown, along the posterior half of the upper lip; rims of eyelids bright-yellow.
Habit and Habitat:
Inhabits under bushes on the hillsides and in sandy areas.
Diet:
Insects.

Conservation status and Threats:
Not accessed. Rare. Loss of habitat.
Distribution: Madhya Pradesh: Jabalpur and Mandla (KTR). Elsewhere India: Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Elsewhere outside: Pakistan, Afghanistan Nepal and Bangladesh
