Diagnostic characters:
Body slim and slender; very short legs and digits; lower eyelid with an undivided transparent disc. Dorsum uniform brown; tail pinkish red; each dorsal scale marked with prominent dark spot, forming 4-6 longitudinal line across the dorsal body; sides of neck and anterior portion of the body dark-brown; densely spotted with white dots; belly creamish-white. Body scales are almost equal, dorsal may or may not be larger than the lateral scales; 26-28 scales round the middle of the body; 62-76 scales are down the middle of the back. The limbs are moderately large; digits are short, 12-15 lamellae under the fourth toe; tail swollen at the base; SVL: 80mm.

Prefers terrestrial habitats
Diet:
Feeds on insects like ants, termites and caterpillar

WL (P) A, 1972- None.
Conservation status and Threats:
Not accessed. Uncommon. Loss of habitat.
Distribution: Madhya Pradesh: Dewas (KWS), Jabalpur, Rewa, Shivpuri (MNP), Ujjain, Nimach (GWS), and Indore (RWS). Elsewhere in India: Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
