Diagnostic characters:

Snout projecting beyond the lower jaw; neck slightly distinct; tail short and tapering. Black above with white cross-bars expanding laterally and dorsally; on the anterior side of the body expansions enclose triangular spots, on the posterior part the bars are narrower and closer; upper lips and lower parts uniform white. Habit and Habitat: |
Nocturnal; lives in scrub forest, below rock boulders, rotten logs, in the cracks on walls, in gardens, in agriculture fields and near human habitation. |
