Diagnostic characters:

Body stout; head distinct; scales on body strongly keeled; those on upper surface of head smooth, large and variable in size; eyes large with round pupil. Bright or dull-green over all sometimes with faint irregular black cross lines; belly greyish or glossy white. SVL: 900mm |
Habit and Habitat: |
Nocturnal and crepuscular. Found in grass and low vegetation. |
Diet: |
Prefers toad though frogs and rats are also taken |
